Misty Mountains Quilters Work on "Longbourne" from the Jane Austen Collection

I hope every Mum had a great day yesterday for Mothers' Day.  I was served pancakes with maple syrup in bed and a cup of tea!!  We later had "high tea" with my Mum and Dad.  I brought out the Royal Albert teapot and matching cups and saucers - lovely!

Today I ventured to the Blue Mountains to teach the lovely ladies of the Misty Mountains Quilters the second class of my "Longbourne" quilt.

While the sky was overcast, the colours of the autumn trees were spectacular in red, orange and gold.  This is my favourite season of the year.

The ladies have been working hard on their applique.  It was lovely to view the Show and Tell and see all the different interpretations.

Here is the whole group holding up their work:

Now everyone is hard at work...

Here are some close ups of the beautiful applique centres.
This is Victoria's centre and detail of her wonderful "fussy cut" urn.

Then we worked on the next two borders and pinned her fabulous hexagon border on the navy blue background.  Wow!!

Here is a close up:

And here it is with the hexagons pinned on...

This is Kerry's. with the next two borders added.

This version is very soft and pretty in pinks and blues.

This belongs to Faye who has a wonderful pink stripe as her first border, very professionally mitred, I might add! (urn still to be finished)...

This is so lovely in jades of gentle blue, yelloe and aqua.

Now Anne thinks she is a big challenge to me with her colour scheme and choice of fabrics, but I think her centre looks fabulous!

Here is a close up of her "wild" urn.

Congratulations, ladies.  I hope you enjoyed the class and happy stitching for the next couple of months.
