There is also a Friday and a Saturday option at Jukejema Quilting Barn, Nowra (4421 2577).

Another Busy Day at the QuiltNSW Sydney Show

Here I am at the entrance to the quilt display at the Sydney Quilt Show, showing my hoop design.

Here is the work of some of my very talented tutor friends. We were all asked by the QuiltNSW Committee to contribute a design for the display.  It was fun to pick which one belonged to which quilter.

The first one is a gorgeous felt and embroidered tree by Wendy Williams.

This is a classic Australian gum leaf design by Amanda Daly, President of QuiltNSW.

This one is very much a signature Deborah Louie, quilted in black thread and then coloured with pencils.

This one is by very clever textile artist, Caroline Sharkey. She loves the colours of the desert.

It was great to see some of my students work on display.  Well done ladies.  It is a lot of work to get a quilt ready for the Show.

This is "Blue Lotus" by Robyn Harris, quilted by Jan Foster of Red Shed Quilting.

This is "Longbourne" by Natalie Wall, quilted by Veronica Appleyard of Appleyard Cottage Quilting.

This is "Hunsford" by Dianne Kearns, quilted by Veronica Appleyard of Appleyard Cottage Quilting.

I also had another visit to see my quilt "Wentworth" hanging in the Show.

It was great to see Glynne and her daughter at the Show, amongst many other friends.

Jukejema Quilting Barn "Lambton" Class

Lots of progress was made today on the "Lambton" quilts in Saturday class at Jukejema.  We sorted out lots of colours and had fun playing with fabric.

Here is a selection of photos of all the different versions.  Wow!

The first one is by Jo, featuring navy blue, soft brown, pink and grey green.  Lovely.

Next is Donna's version with a beautiful combination of colours.

Karen's is also gorgeous in rich purple and red.

Louise has used reds, blues and soft gold.  I love her soft blue circle.

This beautiful centre is by Lee-Anne.

This one is by Sharon in lots of different pinks and reds.

Another Sharon is making a unique version with the addition of some felt appliqué.

I know lots of ladies enjoyed seeing Carol's beautiful Dresden plate with the repetition of the same fussy cut motif. Here it is, with more added.

Hope you enjoyed the photos.  Hello to Michelle and Glynne.

Lambton Blocks and Centres at The Stitchers Cupboard

Lots more "Lambton" activity at The Stitchers Cupboard classes in Camden.

This is Julie's lovely block, glued in position and ready for stitching.

Sharon has made all the components for the four blocks with Dresden centres. She laid them out for a show and tell.

I love this baby Dresden flower with its alternating blue petals.  Gorgeous!

This is Maria's very pretty block.

This is Christine's centre in strong pinks, purples and greens.

This is Melanie's beautiful centre using lots of fancy fussy cuts from a stunning orange, cream and blue special fabric.

This one belongs to Chris.  Gorgeous, love the red medallions in the scallop border.

Hi Michelle and Glynne, I hope you enjoyed the show and tell.

I Received a Ribbon at the QuiltNSW Sydney Quilt Show!

Greetings to Michelle and Glynne!

I received a Judges Commendation for my quilt called "Wentworth" in the 2016 QuiltNSW Sydney Quilt Show in the Commercially Quilted - Small Category!  Yay!

Thank you to the very talented Belinda Betts of Eucalypt Ridge Quilting, who did a magnificent job of quilting my quilt.  We make a great team, as we also won a ribbon in last year's Show.

Here I am in front of the quilt hanging in the Show.  This is the quilt I will be teaching at my first joint retreat with Amanda Daly at Kurri Kurri in July.

Some close ups.

The whole quilt, with ribbon!

It was great to see my work in the hoop display at the entrance to the Quilt Display.  A number of tutors and well known quilters were asked to contribute a block for this new display.  The blocks were inserted back to back in embroidery hoops and were hung at different levels by fishing wire.  They all spun around and around.  It looked terrific.

I had a very social day at the Show on Wednesday and hope to go back on Sunday for a serious look at all the quilts.  Thanks QuiltNSW, Expertise Events and all the sponsors for another great Show.
