Robin's Beautiful "Longbourne"

It was great to help Robin finish her beautiful "Longbourne" on Thursday.  Here is her daughter Kylie holding it up to show everyone.

There is a lot of work in this quilt and I think Robin was pleased to have it finished - of course she has made heaps of other quilts in between.

Robin is in hospital at present.  All my love for a speedy recovery!

Iain's Beautiful Autumnal Tree

My student Iain entered his lovely autumn confetti tree in the Camden Show last weekend.

He had his little quilt framed and it looks amazing.  He received a Judges Commendation.

Congratulations, Iain!

Kylie has done a fabulous job with her fussy cutting of flowers for the corner flowers of her "Meryton" from bright fabrics:

These are the colours we chose for her sashings and petal and vine border.

Here are Robin's very beautiful corner flowers:

Jan is working in blue and white with ric rac stems:

Here are Colleen's blocks for her "Marrakesh" quilt. Amazing!

Kylie brought in her magnificent "Longbourne". Wow, it looks fabulous.

Working with Confetti

You may recall I have been working with a technique of confetti applique recently.  I made a jacaranda tree design for my Textiles Across the Tasman "journey" challenge and then I made a slightly larger cottage garden piece.

My ladies at Richmond are having a go at both designs.

Here is Mary's completed tree:

This is Karol's jacaranda and then her autumn tree.  She is making a separate tree for each season.

Here is my completed cottage garden design:

Here are works in progress by Judy, Karol, Mary 1 and Mary 2.

Mary 1 brought in her completed pineapple block table runner.  Gorgeous.

Classes at Patchwork Plus

Today we had another lovely class at Patchwork Plus at Miranda.

Irene has made progress on her soft and beautiful version of "Netherfield":

Pauline has been working on her gorgeous lacey version of "Meryton" in pinks, purples and teal green.

Margaret and I chose some fabulous fabrics for her "Meryton":  yummy.

Lorraine always has wonderful fabrics and they are particularly spectacular at the moment.  I teach at Patchwork Plus the third Wednesday of every month.

Gorgeous Work on "Meryton"

Here are some more photos from my girls working on "Meryton".  I know quite a few of you are following progress on Jan's beautiful version.  Well, here it is with the corner bouquets completed.  WOW!  Love the fussy cutting.

Sharon is making two different versions as presents for the girls in her life: her daughter and one of her nieces.  She has done a HUGE amount of work in the last couple of weeks and now has all the corner flowers and leaves made and tacked in position on both versions!!

Here is Version 1:

And here is Version 2:

Glenda had a glorious pile of little treasures that we all had to admire:

Chris' Show and Tell of Completed "Hunsford" and "Spikes"

Chris always completes the quilts she starts in class and they are always simply beautiful.  Well done, Chris.

Here is her "Hunsford":

Not to be out done by Chris' amazing "Spikes and Specks".  I love the soft pink as the applique background and the teal in the side setting triangles.  Just gorgy!

Congratulations again, Chris.
