End of Year Classes

Veena was very excited to start “Hartfield” in class at Lyn’s Fine Needlework in Baulkham Hills.

Jen has completed her “Charlotte” quilt which her Dad loves, so it is going to a good home.

Sharon has almost completed all of her outside blocks for “Hartfield” in beautiful jewel colours.  I am looking forward to seeing it all sewn together in the new year.

Here are Sharon and Jan enjoying the day at The Stitchers Cupboard yesterday.

It was our annual Christmas Party and last Monday class (and my final class) for the year.  Thank you gorgeous ladies and gentleman for a great year of fun, laughter, a few tears and lots of stitching.  See you all in 2018.

Two “Pickled Paisleys”

Here are two totally different versions of my “Pickled Paisley” quilt design.  It is amazing how different fabric choices change the quilt completely.

This dramatic version is by Michelle with bright colours on a black background and a cream paisley feature print.

This one is by Jennie with a very soft flow of colours over the surface with a pretty Paisley feature print in purple, red and teal.

Well done ladies on this challenging sewing pattern.  I love them both!

Classes Wrap Up at Hobbysew for the Year

My final classes for the year at Hobbysew Kings Park were held last week.

Anna finished this stunning “Blue Lotus” quilt.  All by machine, gorgeous and a gift she is giving away to a friend.

Lesley added clam shell borders to her beautiful “Longbourne” quilt.

Dru was working on English paper pieced outside border blocks for “Hunsford” in dramatic red and black.

Pat has almost completed a lovely “Hartfield” for her grand daughter.

I will be back to Kings Park for January Summer School on January 9, 2018.  Happy stitching until then ladies.

Magnificent “Meryton” by Anne

Absolutely thrilled and so proud of Anne’s work on this completely gorgeous “Meryton” in lovely pink and soft green.  The quilt was recently custom quilted by Belinda Betts of Eucalypt Ridge Quilting in Orange.  It is stunning!

Hard to get a photo of the whole quilt in a confined space.  It is definitely a bed sized quilt.

Here are some close ups of the different sections which show Anne’s lovely colour choice and stitching and the beautiful quilting by Belinda.

I saw Anne’s quilt yesterday at our last Saturday class for the year at Hobbysew Kings Park.  Meredith was in fine form clowning around with an embroidery hoop cover which looks like a shower cap!  Sharon also having a laugh.

Sharon was beginning to work on her Mr D’Arcy Cushion with a lovely combination of fabrics.

Anne is on to her next quilt “Hartfield” with lovely hexagons.

Thank you ladies for your support and friendship throughout the year.  Lots more to come.  K x
