Cesky Krumlov, The Czech Republic

We left Austria for a trip into the Czech Republic, a very different country with different language, currency and feeling to it.

We first visited the medieval town of Cesky Krumlov which is very beautiful.  However, we found the town mainly geared to the massive number of tourists with many, many cafes and restaurants and shops filled with cheap souvenirs.

Here are our first glimpses of the town.

Here are some views from a high spot.

The town is surrounded by a loop of the river Vltava River.

As it was a beautiful day, there were many people in kayaks and rafts on the water.

I liked these metal window screens.

Some of the passageways between buildings were very narrow.

The main church.

The sky was a beautiful colour for the backdrop to the scenery. This is my favourite photo from this day.
