Salzburg

Salzburg is a magnificent Gothic city with splendid Cathedrals, castles, palaces and fountains everywhere.

It is of course also closely associated with Mozart.  Here I am in the Mozartplatz.

We visited a beautiful Christmas Museum.  They set up a magnificent room in vintage Christmas decorations from about 1910.  Just charming.

They had a beautiful display of doll house size figures representing a Christmas market which were just delightful.

And beautiful cards and advent calendars.

We went on a carriage ride around the Old Town centre.

We just loved the Dom (Cathedral) in Salzburg, one of the most beautiful we have seen.

We then had a lovely dinner out with Mozart.

Beautiful music in a fabulous setting.  Loved it.

The flower market.

I also visited the Salzburg Museum which contained many historic treasures and was housed in a magnificent building with heavily painted ceilings.

Love this beautiful city.
