Class Happenings My First Week Back

What a very busy week.  I have already taught six classes since I have been home from overseas.  I was very lucky that the jet lag was not too bad.  I guess there is something to be said for hitting the ground running!

Here are some highlights, especially of work being done while I have been away.

Irene brought her daughter's completed "Lambton" in to Patchwork Plus at Miranda to show me. Regina's quilt is just spectacular.  She has a wonderful way with colour!  Stunning quilting by Belinda Betts of Eucalypt Ridge Quilting in Orange.  Congratulations ladies!  Love it.

Irene herself is working on her "Hartfield" centre.  Beautiful work.

Pauline has also been working on her lovely "Hartfield" centre.  Great colours.

Sharon has been working very hard to finish a couple of major quilts from classes at The Stitchers Cupboard in Camden.  Here is her completed "Lambton", beautifully quilted by Sarah Lennon of Temora Quilting.  Wow. it is just gorgeous.

Sharon has also completed this stunning "Wentworth", also quilted by Sarah Lennon.  Gorgeous soft colours and love the stippling.

This is Glynne's gorgeous centre for "Hartfield".  Hi, Glynne!  See you Monday at The Stitchers Cupboard.

Julie has made huge progress on her lovely "Hartfield" while I have been away.  She is now making the outside blocks.  Love it.

Judy has completed a spectacular version of my "Ashbourne Mill" design in black, white and red.  She added an extra dogtooth border of her own devising to make the quilt larger for a bed sized gift.  It is stunning.  I met up with Judy at the Edmund Rice Retreat Centre in Mulgoa.

Kim loved making my Whack and Stack "Marrakesh" design so much, she made two versions using different fabrics.  Terrific results.

Dianne has been working on her version of "The Way Ahead", my compass quilt.  She was putting the circles into the square surrounds.  looking fabulous.

Jan has been working on her centre for "Pemberley".  Gorgeous.

Now you see why I need a couple of days off to unpack my suitcases and get organised.  More classes coming up.  Where ever you are, happy stitching!

My Day at the Quilt Show

It was lovely to meet up with Jean and see her wonderful version of "Pemberley" hanging at the Sydney Show.  Jean, it looks amazing.

Here are a couple of my favourites from the Show.  I have included a pic of the label on the quilt and then the quilt itself so you can identify the makers.

The Best of Show was absolutely marvellous - "Star Link" by Pamela Brockwell.  The colours and especially the quilting were amazing.

It was a beautiful Show.  Thank you to all the sponsors and volunteers for all the hard work.

QuiltNSW Quilt Show

I was very excited to receive a First Place ribbon for my quilt "Hartfield" in this year's Sydney Quilt Show!  My quilt was entered in the Entrant's Quilt Top Quilted by Another, Professional category.

It was so wonderful that the lovely Helen Hayes was up from Melbourne and was able to meet me at the Show.  Helen is the very clever lady who Quilted "Hartfield".  She is a superb quilter and I love her work.  Thank you so much Helen.

Thank you to Two Green Zebras for sponsoring the Show with this prize.

"Lambton" was also on display at the Show.

I had a lovely day at the Show.  It was great to meet lots of friends and students.  It is a wonderful Show with a record number (450) of quilts on display.
