Final Day of Jane Austen Tour 2017

We had a lovely time on a private tour of The American Museum in Bath housed at Claverton Manor, built near Bath in the 1820s.

The grounds are magnificent.

The Museum houses a magnificent collection of antique furnishings set in authentic rooms honouring the history of the United States.

The Shaker tradition.

The German immigrants.

Elegant colonial.

Stencilled walls.

We spent some time studying the amazing antique quilt collection.

This nine patch on point was made around 1860, Pennsylvania.

Wonderful English paper piecing in silks, around 1885.

My favourite, hexagons, made around 1840 Maryland.

Fan Quilt c1850 Michigan

There was also a wonderful display of authentic fashion from the 1920s.  Just a hint of Downtown Abbey!  Gorgeous!

Here is Glenda with her friends!

And Jan looking regal in black and gold fashion.

Just a beautiful Museum.
