Jane Austen Finishing School Commences

I had a lovely day yesterday when ten of my lovely ladies joined me for the first class of 2014.

We had a relaxed time, catching up on Christmas news while working on the various quilts from the Jane Austen Quilt Collection. Ladies were mostly continuing their hand sewing while a couple were adding borders by machine.

Here are some photos from the day:

This is Julie's "Longbourne" centre.  Everyone gasped when I held it up because it is so beautiful with its rich red borders and dark chocolate background to the gorgeous fussy cut hexagons.

Here is Christine's wonderful "Pemberley" centre. Chris has worked very hard to accomplish all this appliqué in a short time.  Stunning!  She is loving using her stash of reproduction prints.

Now she is working on the outside blocks. Here is one of the heart corner blocks under way.  The pink looks yummy!

Here is an update on Natalie's "Bollywood Longbourne".  She says she might even finish this quilt soon!  Ha ha, she has made a start on heaps of quilts. Followers will remember Natalie is making her version of this quilt in stunning Indian looking prints.  She has even bought a new bed head and orange sheets to match the quilt!

Thanks for a great day.  I look forward to the next class on Thursday.  Please phone the shop on
4647 3555 if you wish to join us.
