My Visit to The Sydney Quilt Show - Traditional Quilts

Whilst I enjoy the modern quilt movement, my true love is traditional quilting.

Here is a selection of some of the stunning traditional quilts I saw this year at The Show.

Fabulous quarter inch hexagons, all 27,000 of them, by Pauline Yianakis.

A magnificent Lucy Boston by Helen Granleese.

Lovely piecing by Margaret Cormack.

This lovely quilt by Rhonda Pearce.

Another beauty by Helen Granleese.

This was so gorgeous in traditional folk art style by Shelly Kelly and Sharon Geddes.

This stunning quilt by Narelle Birchall was based on an antique quilt similar to the quilt that inspired my Pemberley.

Finally, here am I with my “Donwell Abbey”.  Thank you Helen Hayes for the magnificent quilting.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my visit to the QuiltNSW Show for 2019.

  1. Thank you Katrina for sharing these amazing photos! I cannot imagine how many hours it took for the creators to make them but they are a piece of a kind! Congratulations on your quilt too! Love the color combination and fussy cutting and how it evolves around the center piece!
