Beautiful foundation piecing

I had my second foundation piecing class at Lyn's Fine Needlework at Baulkham Hills on Saturday.

The ladies have done a great job working on their quilts.

Lesley and Hanne are making my quilt called "The Way Ahead".  This design has nine pieced compass blocks, the centre block with surrounding points and the others with circles of flying geese.

Here are some of their gorgeous compass blocks...Bathe first few are Hanne's.  She has made them in lovely colours from her vast collection of Nancy Halverson fabrics.

The next few are Lesley's made in gorgeous William Morris fabrics.

They are so fabulous.  Here are their selected centre blocks with their "sunray" point surrounds finished in class:

Then there were the "Spikes and Specks" quilts.  Glenda is making the most spectacular red, black and white version.  I know a lot of you are waiting to see these blocks. Glenda has done a magnificent job with these.  Some have alternating red and black spikes and she says she has made a ying to every yang!

Here are a couples of blocks after we pieced the rings together and set them in a square.

Wow, they are so great.  I cannot wait to see the finished quilt.

Here are a couple of Dru's blocks. We ended up mixing all the rings up so that the colours are more varied. Lots of "auditioning" took place.

Yay! Great class girls! Happy stitching.
