More Lovely Class Work at The Stitchers Cupboard

Classes at The Stitchers Cupboard have been very busy this week.  Lots to show.

This is one of the flowers from my Dresden border on “Highbury”.

Kerry made a variation for her version in pinks and browns.  She expertly fussy cut the Dresden petals from her border fabric and when they were joined they created a gorgeous spider web effect.  She made eight leaves per flower instead of four.  Looks fabulous.

Irene is making steady progress on a beautiful version of “Hartfield”.  Lovely work.

Christine finished a magnificent “Netherfield”.  Lovely colours and 98” square, it will look awesome on her king sized bed.

Maryse pieced together more borders for her striking “Hunsford” in blues and reds.

We fussy cut the border fabric, great effect when mitred at the corners.

Sharron placed the hexagon border around her very pretty “Highbury” Centre.

And me?  Here is Sunday sewing on “Donwell Abbey” Borders.

So happy one of my favourite shows has returned, Season 4 of Poldark on the ABC.  Yay!

Southern Highlands Quilting Guild

I had a lovely day at the Tuesday meeting of the Southern Highlands Quilting Guild held at the Mittagong RSL Club.

I enjoyed being their guest speaker and conducting a show and tell of my work.

Class at Lyn’s Fine Needlework saw Dianne finish her beautiful version of “Millefiori”.  

All of the hexagonal shaped blocks are cut from the same fabric as the border using my Whack and Stack techniques.

Di was also working on lots of prep for her lovely “Pemberley” Centre.  Great work.

My Busy Week in the Classroom

Lots of classes this week with some great stitching by my students.

Three very hectic days at Hobbysew at Kings Park.  Here are some pics of what was happening there.

This is the centre of Meredith’s very beautiful “Netherfield”. 

She is using lots of lovely fabrics by Moda which were a Christmas range in greens, reds, black, gold and blue.

Beautiful work.

Vicki was working on her English paper pieced flowers for her “Granny’s Garden” Folder.

Wendy made a striking compass block for “The Way Ahead” in Black, red, gold and grey.

Dru also made a compass block in beautiful bright colours.

This is Dru’s version of “Heartstrings” in Thimbleberries fabrics.  Gorgeous result.

Then some busy classes at The Stitchers Cupboard in Camden.  Great to see some finished quilts.

First is Jan’s lovely “Longbourne” in purples and teals.

Then this is a striking black, white and red “Henrietta” by Glynnis,  all machine pieced.

Mooneen has recently finished the hand appliqué on a delightful version of “Aussie Sue”, my original Sunbonnet Sue design.

Lots of ladies have been making progress on “Highbury”.
