Wonderful Retreat at Ferndale

I recently held my very first weekend retreat at Ferndale, Lower Portland.  This is a wonderful venue located in a quiet bush setting on the Hawkesbury River north of Sydney.

I had thirteen lovely ladies join me for more than two days of tuition, plenty of delicious food, comfy accommodation, laughs and friendship.  Oh, and some sewing.

Here is the view from the classroom.

Looking towards the overnight cabins.

Our classroom.

Sue brought her fabulous completed “Longbourne” which she began at retreat last year.  It is beautiful Sue.

Robyn showed her gorgeous “Wentworth”, also completed.

Several ladies worked on the paper foundation pieced centre block for “Rosings”.

This one is by Leanne, gorgeous.

This one is by Cathie.

This one was stitched by Sue,

Stevanne worked on the compass quilt “The Way Ahead”.

Shayne worked on “Spikes and Specks”.

Cath began “Lambton”.

Sue began a beautiful “Jelly Friends” quilt using a William Morris jelly roll.

Looking fabulous, Sue.

Robyn began the hexagon centre of “Meryton”.

Colleen began “Wentworth”.

Lyn and Mooneen finished twin “La Belle” quilts.  So gorgeous girls.

It was a great weekend, thank you to Kee and Chris at Ferndale and all the ladies who attended.  I will be back for more.
