Wonderful Retreat at Ferndale

I am just back from teaching at my second weekend retreat held at Ferndale, Lower Portland.  We all had a fabulous time.

Some huge achievements were made.  Here is Julie with her spectacular “Hartfield”, all sewn together.  Just the borders to add.

Kerry made an entire jelly roll quilt by Saturday night.  This is my pattern called “Jelly Holiday”.

Lots of ladies also made blocks for my new design called “Jelly New Year”.

These are by Meredith.

By Sharon.

By Jenny.

Other ladies worked on their “Donwell Abbey” centres.  Here is Julie, Jan and Glenda with their beautiful blocks.

Here is Natalie’s Centre.  Wow!

Jennie was making leaves for “Netherfield”.

Dru was working on “Lambton” Dresdens.

Sharon worked on my new “Daisy Days” Bag.

Stevanne made lots more fabulous compass blocks for “The Way Ahead”.

Chris made blocks in 1950s repro for “Jelly Friends”.

Bev began a lovely centre for “Wentworth”.

Happy ladies all working hard.  Thank you all for a great experience.

Trip to Orange and Cowra

I had the chance to take a couple of days off and visit the “War and Pieced” Collection by Annette Gero on display at the Regional Art Gallery in Cowra.

Many magnificent pieces were on display, all made by men.  Many of them were hand stitched from the wool remnants of uniforms.

Here are a couple of examples, with their relevant labels.

Here is the view from Evans Lookout on our way over the Blue Mountains.

We stayed in this stunning cottage in Orange.

It was a glorious Autumn day, great for a walk in Cook Park.

The Conservatory was open and full of blooming begonias.

It was fun to get away.

New Pattern Release: “Lady Cavendish”

I now have the full pattern and template kit available for my new quilt called “Lady Cavendish”.

It is stitched by a combination of English Paper Piecing and hand appliqué.

It has been beautifully custom quilted by Katy Law of Nutmeg Quilting.  I love her work.

Look at the trapunto texture she has added to my quilt!

The pattern includes comprehensive instructions, four fussy cutting templates and the paper templates.  The octagon papers need to be used twice.

Recent Class Work at Hobbysew

I had my three monthly classes at Hobbysew Kings Park recently.  Thank you to Saturday girls for the beautiful flowers!  I am still enjoying them.

Gorgeous ladies.

Judy was working on a fabulous version of “Highbury”.  I absolutely love her fussy cutting for the EPP flowers.

Judy has also completed a beautiful “Pickled Paisley” quilt.  Love it!

Wendy was working on her lovely “Hunsford”

Vicki achieved lots on her “Donwell Abbey”.

Karol was stitching the appliqué on a “Lambton” Block.

Judy made another compass block for “The Way Ahead”.

Sharon began a “Donwell Abbey” on the wild side.  Lol.

Meredith was busy Piecing borders on to her beautiful “Netherfield”.

Thanks for some great classes ladies.
