Mr D'Arcy Cushion in Quilters Companion Magazine

It is always fun to see my projects published.  This month my Mr D'Arcy Cushion pattern is published in Issue Number 87 of Quilters Companion.

The design is from my signature quilt, "Pemberley".  You can purchase the pattern and a full kit of templates for the quilt from me: kat.had@bigpond.com.

This is a photo I took of the cushion in my mother's garden.

I love how the magazine has styled this photo.  It looks very masculine here.

Here is the cover of the mag so you can pick up a copy.

Beautiful Jane Austen Quilts in the Making

Two classes at The Stitchers Cupboard this week provided lots of eye candy as ladies worked on their Jane Austen quilts.

These stunning "Lambton" blocks were made by Maryse in red, navy, blue and gold.

Kerry has almost finished her fabulous bright version of "Hartfield" in purple and hot pink.  Just the last two corner blocks to go.

Sorry, the following photos are not as good, I left my camera at home.

This is a lovely version of "Hunsford" in brown and green, made by Robyn.  This is the second version of this quilt she has made.

This is the "Hartfield" that Robyn is now working on.  Love her fussy cutting.

Christine was working on this beautiful "Netherfield".

Great work ladies.

Classes for "Highbury"

Classes for "Highbury", the ninth Quilt in my Jane Austen Collection commence on the second Friday (9 Feb), the second Saturday (10 Feb) and the third Saturday (17 Feb) at The Stitchers Cupboard.  Phone Kathy or Lindsay on 4655 8348 to book your place as numbers are limited.

I have decided to present this new quilt in four workshops, a month apart.  A full kit of English paper piecing templates and cutting Perspex templates will be available.

All my techniques for fabric selection, fussy cutting, English paper piecing and hand appliqué will be taught and demonstrated during the course.

Some of my students have already commenced collecting fabrics for their version of "Highbury", including some options using 1930s fabrics.  Can't wait to see what ladies come up with.

I am very much looking forward to teaching this new design.  I will also be offering this design at the other shops where I teach, by prior agreement.

Please email me on kat.had@bigpond.com if you have any questions.

Beautiful "Lambton" in New Zealand

The delightful Cindy attended the Patchwork Passion retreat north of Auckland where I taught "Lambton" and "Pemberley" last year.

She has now completed her magnificent "Lambton".  It has been beautifully quilted by Leeanne Hopper of Quiltmekiwi.

Here are some progress shots during Quilting.  Just gorgeous.

I am very much looking forward to seeing it in real life when I visit New Zealand again next month.  I will be teaching "Spikes and Specks" and "Hartfield" and "Longbourne" for Patchwork Passion.  More info on their website at www.patchworkpassion.co.nz/classes/.  Very excited.

Lovely Work at Hobbysew

First Saturday of September arrived quickly.  Time for my Hobbysew class.

Meredith made lots of progress on prep for blocks and borders of her beautiful "Wentworth".

Dru was also working on hexagon corner blocks for "Wentworth".  Love the colours she has used.

Judy has completed the "Twilight" pattern folder in fabulous fabrics.  The main aboriginal print is called "Walkabout" and Judy bought it in a quilt shop in the U.K.!  Lol.

Thanks for a relaxing day ladies.
