Day 3 Adelaide Retreat

A great end to a very happy three days of quilting retreat with The Quilting Room.

Lynn was working on the outside blocks. She travelled from Broken Hill to be with us.

Two ladies began work on " Pemberley".  The first centre belongs to Elly and the second one is by Jodi.

A huge three days for me and a long trip home.  I am writing this on the train, nearly home.

Day 2 in Adelaide for The Quilting Room

Had another great day teaching "Lambton" and "Pemberley" to a lovely group of ladies for The Quilting Room in Adelaide, South Australia.

The girls are doing the most amazing work in an array of very different fabrics and colour combinations.

This one is by Jenny.

This is Andrea's Dresden plate for the centre, fussy cut from one fabric she keeps calling "ugly".  Looks gorgeous to me!

This is very pretty in Tilda floral fabric by Jill.

This is by Jenni in red, green and pink.  Lovely.

This is by Tracey in vintage floral.  This is her first hand appliqué quilt.  Beautiful.

This is by Lyn using some fabrics from Pumpkin Pie.  Love that pink!

This beautiful fussy cut Dresden is by Sandra.  How amazing are these shapes?

Dani is using bright jewel tones in Jinny Beyer Palette fabrics on a black background.

A busy day of demonstrating techniques, lots of fabric choosing, talking, laughing, eating and sewing.  

The Quilting Room Retreat in Adelaide

I am now in Adelaide enjoying the company of some lovely ladies who have been coming to my retreats with The Quilting Room for up to four years.

We have had the most incredible show and tell of completed quilts and works in progress from previous retreats.

Here is a most magnificent "Pemberley" by Helen Campbell.  Helen has ditched the quilt and will return to free motion quilting when she has time!  Just gorgeous colours, fabric and sewing.
