Exclusive Retreat with Amanda Daly, July 2016

I am very excited to announce that I have joined with Amanda Daly to run an exclusive retreat at the Hunter Valley Hotel Academy, Kurri Kurri, NSW,  from Friday afternoon 29 to Sunday afternoon 31 July, 2016.

We have both made new quilt projects to teach over the two days of the retreat.

All accommodation, meals, tuition and special goodies are included.  It is going to be a fantastic weekend of stitching fun, laughter, eating and meeting new people.

My quilt is called "Wentworth".  It is all hand stitched, using many of my techniques for English paper piecing and hand appliqué.  I receive a lot of requests from ladies in the Hunter and central coast to join one of my classes.  This is your chance.

This is my new quilt called "Wentworth" (unquilted here).

The centre of the quilt, sorry the photos are not great!

A sneak peek of the quilt on the longarm quilting machine of the very talented, super special Belinda Betts:

These are the three choices Amanda is offering her ladies.  "Out of the Box", a contemporary twist on the traditional.  This is a bed sized machine made quilt.  Gorgeous colours!

Then there are two lovely wall hangings: a Turtle or Butterfly.

Something for everyone.

If you are interested to attend the retreat, please email either myself on kat.had@bigpond.com or Amanda on thedalys@tpg.com.au, for more information.

Last Class Before Easter

I had a very busy time in class at The Stitchers Cupboard today.  Not much time to use the camera but a couple of progress pics.

Jan has completed the centre of her "Lambton" quilt ready for Lesson 3.  It looks gorgeous.

Jenny added the scallop and coffin borders to her amazing black and yellow version.

Natalie got a lot of work done on more borders for her "Netherfield" medallion.  This is the second quilt design in my Jane Austen collection.  Wow, fabulous.

I recently received this lovely card and a gorgeous "mug rug" from Pat who lives in Perth.  Pat joined me on last year's Whitecroft Jane Austen tour in the UK.  It was so great to catch up with her recently when she was visiting Sydney with her husband.

Thank you so much Pat.

I hope you all have a restful, safe and happy Easter period with your loved ones, and some time for stitching.  These are the beautiful mini Easter chocolate cup cakes Jan made for us to have in class today.

Another Productive "Lambton" Class at The Stitchers Cupboard

Here is a selection of stunning "Lambton" quilts being made by the ladies in Camden.

First one is by Regina in purples, pinks, gold and green.  I love her use of strong colour.

This is Shirley's quilt, which is very rich in olive greens, gold and red.  Beautiful fussy cutting as well.

This is Maria's "Lambton" in pinks and blues with a touch of brown.  We were working on the scallop borders.

This one belongs to Kelly, lovely in browns, teals and reds.

Michelle was busy with "coffin" shapes.

Maria showed progress on her beautiful "Rosings" in blue, brown, green and red.  I really love it.

Stay tuned for more....

Friday Sit and Sew at The Stitchers Cupboard

My ladies at Friday sit and sew are working on a variety of different projects.

Robyn is on the last stretch of work for her lovely "Pemberley".  Here is a collection of gorgeous Dresden plates and a heart corner block under way.

Kerry is working on a very pretty version of "Ashbourne Mill" in teal and purple.

Melanie has made progress on her "Lambton" centre.

If you would like to join me, this class takes place on the third Friday of each month at the Camden store.  You can make most of my quilt designs (except the latest ones) in this class.

Beautiful Versions of Lambton at Patchwork Plus, Miranda

Here are some delightful versions of "Lambton" being developed by my lovely ladies at Patchwork Plus,  Miranda.

First is Kris' beautifully sewn, soft and lovely version in yellow, blue and mauve.

This is Irene's lovely quilt centre in blues and pinks (just a pretend circle, by the way).

The last one is by Pauline who is using some brighter colours and a lovely bouquet for her scallops.

Great work ladies.  I look forward to seeing your progress.

Monday Class at The Stitchers Cupboard

We always have a great time every Monday morning in class at The Stitchers Cupboard in Camden.

The girls are doing some amazing work and it is great to catch up on the gossip.  Ha ha.

Sharon is the only one to tackle the extensive appliqué borders on my design called "Henrietta".  She is even doing all of her appliqué by hand (mine was fused and machine stitched), a monumental task.  It is going to be a masterpiece!

Production line of small flowers:

Jan sewed her scallop borders to the centre of her "Lambton".  Stunning.

Glynne has made progress on her lovely soft version of "Lambton".  Gorgeous!

More will follow.
