Teaching for Threadbear Patchwork, Castlemaine

Today was the second day of teaching "Lambton" for Threadbear Patchwork and Quilting.  Thank you to Corliss for inviting me to teach for you and to the lovely ladies in class.

Trip to Threadbear in Castlemaine

My friend Colleen and I had a very early start yesterday to drive to Castlemaine in central Victoria.  This is a trip of over 800 kilometres which took us more than nine hours driving.

The countryside was beautiful and green.  We loved the fields of wild gazanias growing near the roads in Victoria.

Spring is everywhere.

We were in a bit of a rush to get to Castlemaine in time to shop at the magnificent Threadbear Patchwork Store.  Made it just in time....

Today I had a very busy day teaching a lovely group of ladies my applique techniques for "Lambton".

Here I am helping Jenny with her fabrics.

I had taught some of the group before and it was great to see some show and tell.

Tina brought in her beautiful bouquet of three dimensional applique which she began on the Needlework Cruise in April.  Lovely work.

Bernie brought her funky bright centre for "Wentworth" with her.

This gorgeous centre is by Jenny.  Wow, love it.

Another day of teaching tomorrow.

"Carlisle" Sewing Ensemble Pattern and Kit Available at The Stitchers Cupboard

I have now completed a set of sewing accessories which include a pin cushion, needle holder, floss card book and a drawstring bag.  The pattern for all four pieces is available now from The Stitchers Cupboard. More Amazing "Lambton" Centres at Jukejema Quilting Barn

My clever Lambton class had a huge show and tell for me last Saturday.  Here are some pics.

This one is by Sharon in red and pink using a cool fabric that already had scallops printed on it.  What a short cut!

This one is by Karen in royal rich purple, reds and greens.

This is by Delma in very striking colours.

Jo has made a beautiful fabric selection in reproduction fabrics.

Sharon has done a fabulous job combining cotton fabrics with wool felt and hand embroidery.  Very clever and special.

I often drive home from Nowra via the beautiful Kangaroo Valley.  It is one of the most glorious hidden valleys surrounded by the escarpment.  Here it is.

Another Busy Week of Classes

I have been teaching a lot again this week, too busy to post, sorry Michelle and Glynne, but here we go.

Sharon made two identical quilts from my "Now and Zen" pattern to be used as a fund raiser for the group "Everyone Can Dance".  Great work Sharon.  

The ladies who attend my workshops in Victor Harbor/Adelaide in South Australia get together every month or so to stitch together in a "Jane Austen Quilt Group".  Helen sent me two delicious photos from the recent get together.  This is Bron's very gorgeous small version of "Meryton" in blues, golds and pinks.  Lovely!

This is a photo of Andrea's beautiful "Longbourne", now complete.  Awesome!

Some more finished quilts, this is Jill's wonderful "Lambton" which she began in class at Jukejema Quilting Barn.

Margaret called in to see me when I was in Nowra to show me her amazing finished "Lambton" in bright jewel tones.  It is really gorgeous.

Denise was working on her beautiful "Pemberley" in class at Patchwork Plus in Miranda on Wednesday.  She is doing an amazing job.

Pauline was working on her fabulous "Lambton" blocks at Miranda.  She has a delightful way with fussy cutting and colour.

Christine was also working on "Lambton" blocks at The Stitchers Cupboard in Camden.  Lovely fussy cutting also.

Kerry was making hexagons for the corner blocks of "Wentworth" in brown and blue.
