Adelaide "Spikes and Specks" Classes

I am just back from a week away in Adelaide teaching at the 2013 South Australian Quilt Encounter.  Congratulations to Kerryn and her Committee for their fabulous teamwork which accomplished such a successful and happy week away.  I do not think I have had more fun teaching anywhere!

I taught my machine paper foundation pieced "Spikes and Specks" quilt to two separate classes.  Here is the classroom set up:

I am delighted to show you all the different blocks the girls made.  It is amazing to see all the different interpretations of the one design.

They are all amazing!  Congratulations girls and thank you for two fabulous classes.

Here are lots of the blocks pinned to the wall as they were finished:

And here is a photo of a very lovely class:

This is the lovely Michelle holding up her first block.  She is working in the colours of brown and melon.  Looking great!

Here is Deb with her first beautiful blue block.  Everyone admired her lovely use of colour.  Her quilt is going to be gorgeous all in shades of blue and cream.

Here is one of the girls perfecting her machine applique skills:

This is the dining room at Immanuel College.  The food was yummy and more than plentiful!  Needless to say we did not sit outside on those picnic tables - it was just too cold.

In fact we had some wild weather, especially the wind.  But then a rainbow appeared.

I hope you have enjoyed these photos.
