Beautiful Quilts at Hobbysew

I have had two busy days teaching at Hobbysew Kings Park.  I teach three monthly classes there in the first week of each month.

The Jane Austen class has been busy while I have been away.  We had a wonderful show and tell of "Pemberley" quilts.  This is still my favourite!

This is Lynne's quilt with the lovely blue wavy appliqué border now added.

This is Kerrie's quilt centre.  Gorgeous!

She has almost completed all of the outside blocks as well.  It will be finished soon!

This is Michelle's beautiful quilt centre.  Michelle has also completed all the outside blocks.  I am looking forward to seeing these finished and the girls can start a new quilt next year.

Lynne was working on the Dresden flower border:

Margaret was working on clamshells for her "Longbourne":

Ladies in my Wednesday class have also been busy.  Here is Wendy's version of the whack and stack star quilt called "Rococo":

This is Lesley's batik "Heartstrings":

Great work, ladies.

Talk About the Jane Austen Tour

I had a great time talking to some lovely ladies about my recent Whitecroft Jane Austen tour at The Stitchers Cupboard tonight.  Thank you to Kathy and John for hosting the evening and to Lindsay for all the beautiful baking.

I relived some of the wonderful experiences I had in a show and tell talk about all the places I visited while staying in Bath for ten nights.

The audience was friendly, thanks Sharon and Jan.

Showing off "Pemberley", the quilt that started it all!

Take a look at the gorgeous spread for supper.

Thank you for coming ladies.

Fabulous Quilts in Class at the Stitchers Cupboard

We had some wonderful show and tell in class today.

Kylie has finished her stunning "Meryton" and had it quilted by Birgitta Hoffman.  Just some binding to hand stitch and it is done.

Jenny brought in her lovely completed "Meryton" to show us.  She has made some variations to the outside blocks.

Jan completed her beautiful green "Henrietta" by sewing the final border on today.  Stunningly gorgy!

Sharon has sewn all of her reproduction blocks together and the first purple border is now on.  Yay! She is doing the floral borders by hand appliqué, so there will be a slight delay before the quilt is finished!  Lol.

Great work, ladies.

Today's Jane Austen Quilt Workshop

Some stunning quilts are coming out of my Jane Austen workshops at The Stitchers Cupboard.

First is the beautiful "Hunsford" centre made by Colleen in black and red.

Dianne has almost finished all the blocks for her "Hunsford"! Wow.  They are very detailed with lots of fussy cutting.

This is Michelle's amazing "Netherfield" in strong Autumn colours.  I love it.

Here is a pretty block by Claudine for her "Meryton":

More Wonderful Class Work at The Stitchers Cupboard

Some more busy students are producing fantastic results in class in Camden.

This is Robyn's very beautiful centre for "Pemberley".

Christine is working on her "Netherfield".  Looks fabulous.

Melanie has been making lots of tiny hexagon rosettes for her "Longbourne" (3/8 inch sides).

Here is Jan's amazing green version of "Henrietta".  The blocks are all together, just two borders to go.

Sharon has now sewn all her reproduction blocks together.  Gorgeous.

Great work, ladies.

A Couple of Busy Days at The Stitchers Cupboard

It is always great to see some quilts being finished at this time of year!

Here are just a few beauties coming out of class at The Stitchers Cupboard.

First is Jenny's amazing bright version of "Henrietta".  This quilt is not for the faint hearted, with lots of machine piecing and trimming.  Jenny limited the number of colours in her quilt, making a colour gradation from yellow in the centre, through orange to deep rich orange/red.  The final border is a gorgeous tulip print.  Congratulations, Jenny and your lucky friend who will receive the quilt at Christmas time.

These are the beautiful blocks of Sharon's "Henrietta" quilt, in reproduction fabrics.  We were laying them out on the floor, moving them in all different positions.  We decided on a symmetrical, balanced arrangement of colours rather than random placement.  And Sharon is my hero student, making an amazing hand appliqué border of flowers.

Here is Melanie's beautiful "Meryton" in rich brown and red.  She has made a smaller quilt with some scatter cushions from the designs of the outer blocks.  Love it.

Now that Kerry has completed her "Meryton", she has brought out her amazing "Hunsford" to finish.  This is just stunning in bright red and black.  It will be finished very soon as she has finished all the outside blocks as well.
