Lots Happening at Hobbysew Kings Park Today

Another busy day working on lots of different quilts with ladies from my Saturday class at Hobbysew.

Margaret was definitely the star!  We finished her beautiful "Spikes and Specks" quilt with mitred corners on a series of Jinny Beyer borders.  Wow, it is stunning.

Margaret is also working on a super bright and bold version of my "Lydia" table runner with 2 inch hexagons.  Love the colours and the fussy cutting.

Dru was working on her "Rosings" with a gorgeous pot.  It looks very antique.  Love it.

Christine was working on a bright version of "Now and Zen".

Another busy day.

"Lambton" Classes Have Commenced at Jukejema Quilting Barn

Delighted to have a large class of new ladies in Nowra, all eager to start making my "Lambton" quilt.

We had a very busy day, so not many photos, I'm sorry. I am looking forward to the second lesson when we will see all the different colour combinations, including some very bright versions!

I loved the way Coral organised all of her templates in a special box with separate compartments.  Gorgeous!

I have another class for "Lambton" at Jukejema starting on Saturday, 28 May and also a class offering all of the appliqué Jane Austen quilts starting on Tuesday, 21 June.  Please contact Kim if you would like to join me on 44212577.

Two Busy Days at Hobbysew Kings Park

Regular classes are all beginning for the year.  I have spent the last two days being very busy at Hobbysew.  The girls had heaps of show and tell of progress on all their quilts and we started some new ones.

Julie is planning to complete her lovely black and brown version of "Hunsford".  All the blocks are done, just the borders and sashings to put it all together.

Julie is also working on her "Meryton" centre hexagons.  Looks gorgy.

Heather had completed lots of components for her "Pemberley" which we are now joining together.  Lovely.  Her bird needs a beak!

Dru is continuing to work on blocks from one of my Samplers called "Gold Rush".

Leslie is joining all of the outside blocks of her "Pemberley" to the centre.  The sides are on, just the top and bottom row to stitch on.  It is looking fabulous.

Kerrie has also finished her beautiful "Pemberley".  It has a lovely soft tone to the colours.  Gorgeous.

Today I started to teach my newest Jane Austen quilt, "Lambton".  The girls are making lots of different colour combinations.  I am looking forward to seeing them develop.  These are by Michelle, Jennie and Kylie.

Here is an update on progress on Michelle's "Noahlini" quilt.  We have cut down the centre block and will border it with the bobbing arks.

The elongated hexagons are so cute.

That's all for now.  I am teaching the next four days in a row, so more photos to follow.

What have I been doing?

I have been very busy preparing for all my regular classes which start this week.  Especially exciting is the commencement of teaching the seventh quilt in the Jane Austen Quilt Collection "Lambton".  I know a lot of ladies have been patiently waiting for this one!

I have been asked many times to sell these major patterns but I do not think it is fair to my loyal students who all pay considerable amounts to attend class.  A huge amount of work and time goes into each of these quilts from the design process, all the hand stitching, typing notes, hand drawing pattern sheets and the preparation of printing, photographs and class folders.  I will most likely release the patterns for sale in a few years time.

I am also busy preparing for a three day annual retreat I conduct for The Quilting Room in Victor Harbor, South Australia.  I love this special retreat organised by Helen Campbell.  I love to meet up with some of the SA ladies I have taught for the past few years.  This year I am teaching them "Meryton".

I can show you a glimpse of the next Jane Austen quilt I have been working on, to be called "Hartfield".  This is the house where Emma Woodhouse lives with her father in the delightful Austen novel "Emma". Hard to believe she wrote this over 200 years ago!

If you are on FaceBook, please send me a Friend Request as I often post extra photos there.

Monday Class at The Stitchers Cupboard

Monday class is always so much fun.  We all have a great time laughing, eating, sharing, singing and some sewing.

Here is some of the work:

The centre of Jan's "Santalini" quilt, so gorgeous.

Glynnis was working on wavy appliqué borders for her Christmas quilt.

More on Jan's with wavy borders done and elongated hexagon rows all stitched together.

Glynne has finished her 1930s version of my Jane Austen needle packet keeper.  So pretty.

Glenda has the centre of her "Now and Zen" quilt together.

Great work ladies.

I will be doing a lot of travelling again this year, all great fun!

Corliss from Threadbear Patchwork and Quilting in Castlemaine, Victoria, has just released details of the two day workshop I will be teaching for her on 29 and 30 October, 2016.  Here is the link to her blog: click here.

I will be teaching my latest Jane Austen Quilt called "Lambton" over the weekend.

Corliss always put on a wonderful environment for class.
